What's my Face Shape?

Knowing your face shape is quite benefitial. You face shape tells a lot about your make-up choices and techniques.

Oval

Widest at the temple and forehead, tempering down to a curved chin. This is considered the perfect or ideal facial shape because of its balance and overall look of symmetry. It is used as a standard for all face shapes.

 

 

 

 

Round

This face is widest at the cheekbone area and is usually not much longer. It is wide, has a soft rounded jaw line, short chin, and a round hairline over a rather full forehead. Use two foundations light and dark. With the darker shade blended on the outer edges of the temple cheekbones and jaw line and the light one from the centre of the forehead down the centre of the face to the tip of the chin

 

 

Square

This face has a wide angular jaw line and forehead; the lines of this face are straight and angular. Use two foundations light and dark. With the darker shade blended on the outer edges of the temple cheekbones and jaw line and the light one from the centre of the forehead down the centre of the face to the tip of the chin

 

 

Oblong

This face shape is long and narrow; the cheek area is often hollowed under prominent cheekbones. Corrective make up can be applied to create the illusion of width across the cheekbones line, making the face appear shorter and wider.

 

 

 

Inverted triangle

This facial shape is wide at the temple and forehead area, forming a triangle that tapers down to a narrow chin. Apply a darker foundation over the chin and neck and lighter foundation though the cheeks and under the eyes to the temples and forehead and then blend them together over the forehead for a smooth and natural finish. In the given photo lit light foundation is used on cheeks and under the eyes and forehead.

 

 

Heart shape

Some what similar to the diamond shape this face has a small pointed chin and narrow jaw line but is wider at the forehead. It is usually soft rather than angular and has some prominence in the cheek bone. In the given model lighter foundation or concealer is used on the jaw line and near the ears to correct her narrow fore head lighter foundation is used on the hair line. Warm colours are used to give attractive look to her blue eyes

 

Pear Shape

Somewhat similar to the diamond shape this face has a small pointed chin and narrow jaw line but is wider at the forehead. It is usually soft rather that angular and has some prominence in the cheekbone area.
